Vijayapura is a Hobli in Devanahalli Taluk, Bangalore Rural District. Vijayapura Tmc Was Established on 14-09-1917. Govt. of Karnataka has awarded certificate of appreciation to Vijayapura Tmc in the year 1986-87 and 1992-93 for providing better basic amenities. Vijayaputa is situated along bangalore to Hyderebad National highway at distance of 10km. Vijayapura was earlier known as"Vedaganapuri" as people were known for singing Vedas and also known for Cotton business, later Vijayapura was ruled by Vadigappa nayaka, so it was aslo called as "Vadigenahalli" in the significance of Independence of India it is renamed as "Vijayapura"(Vijaya meaning victory) by Y.M.Gaviyappa (Freedom Fighter) it has around 50000 population and its a good business center for Silk it is around 16Kms from Bangalore International Airfort. It is famous for Temple and is also called as"Temple Town" its a harmonious place for Hindus and Muslims alike.
